Mansur al-Hallaj

Mansur al-Hallaj was a Persian mystic, poet, and teacher of Sufism, best known for his controversial statements of mystical union with God, which led to his execution for heresy. His most famous declaration, 'Ana al-Haqq' ('I am the Truth'), is considered a profound expression of his spiritual beliefs.
