Hilma af Klint

Hilma af Klint was a pioneering Swedish artist and mystic whose abstract works predated the first purely abstract compositions by Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Malevich. Her paintings, which were largely unknown until decades after her death, are now recognized as some of the earliest examples of abstract art.
