Larry McMurtry

Larry McMurtry was an acclaimed American novelist, essayist, bookseller, and screenwriter. He was best known for his novels set in the Old West, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning 'Lonesome Dove'. His works often depicted the changing American West and frequently addressed themes of loneliness and isolation. McMurtry also co-wrote the screenplay for the film 'Brokeback Mountain', for which he received an Academy Award.
