Naji al-Ali ناجي العلي
Naji al-Ali was a prominent Palestinian cartoonist, known for his poignant and politically charged cartoons that often depicted the struggles of the Palestinian people. He is best known for creating the character Handala, a symbol of Palestinian identity and resistance. Al-Ali's work was widely recognized for its bold criticism of Arab regimes and the Israeli occupation. He was assassinated in London in 1987, and his death remains a significant moment in the history of political art.
