Arthur Conan Doyle

Arthur Conan Doyle was a British writer and medical doctor, born on May 22, 1859, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is best known for creating the iconic detective character Sherlock Holmes, first introduced in the novel 'A Study in Scarlet' in 1887. Doyle's works featuring Holmes and his loyal friend Dr. John Watson have become classics of crime fiction. Doyle also wrote historical novels, romance, science fiction, plays, and poetry. He was knighted in 1902 for his contributions to literature and the field of medicine. Doyle passed away on July 7, 1930, in Crowborough, England.
