Ritwik Ghatak

Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, playwright, and film theorist, a seminal figure of Bengali cinema whose work—especially the Partition trilogy Meghe Dhaka Tara, Komal Gandhar, and Subarnarekha—explored displacement and social trauma; he also taught at FTII and wrote influential essays on cinema.
