British theatre critic, scholar, and broadcaster best known for coining and popularising the term "in-yer-face theatre" to describe confrontational British drama of the 1990s; author of In-Yer-Face Theatre: British Drama Today and Rewriting the Nation, and a co-editor of the Theatre Voice interviews platform.
