Gertrude Barrows Bennett

American speculative fiction writer who, under the pseudonym Francis Stevens, pioneered early dark fantasy and science fiction between 1917 and 1923; author of works such as The Citadel of Fear, The Heads of Cerberus, and Claimed, she is often cited as one of the first major female authors in the genre.
