Seng-ts'an

Chinese Chan (Zen) Buddhist monk regarded as the Third Patriarch in the traditional lineage after Bodhidharma and Huike. Little is known of his life; he is traditionally credited with the poem Xinxin Ming (Faith in Mind), though authorship is uncertain. He lived in the late 6th to early 7th century and died in 606.
