Richard Tregaskis

American journalist and World War II war correspondent best known for Guadalcanal Diary, an early account of the U.S. Marines' campaign in the Solomon Islands. He also covered the invasions of Sicily and Italy and later wrote John F. Kennedy and PT-109. He died in a diving accident in Hawaii.
