J. F. Powers

J. F. Powers (1917–1999) was an American novelist and short-story writer known for his finely detailed characterizations of priests in the Midwest. His work often reflected his Catholic faith and explored the complexities and challenges of the Catholic clergy's lives. His most famous novel, 'Morte d'Urban', won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1963.
