Nicholas J. Conard
American-born archaeologist and prehistorian at the University of Tübingen, renowned for leading excavations in the Swabian Jura caves (e.g., Hohle Fels, Vogelherd) that yielded some of the earliest known figurative art and musical instruments, including the Venus of Hohle Fels; his work focuses on Paleolithic cultural evolution of early modern humans and Neanderthals.
