Otto Neugebauer

Otto Eduard Neugebauer was an Austrian-American mathematician and historian of science renowned for his pioneering studies of ancient mathematics and astronomy, especially Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greco-Roman traditions. He taught at Brown University and the Institute for Advanced Study, producing foundational catalogs and analyses of cuneiform astronomical texts and shaping the modern understanding of early scientific thought.
