Hyam Maccoby

British Jewish scholar of Talmud and early Christianity, long associated with Leo Baeck College in London; author of works such as The Mythmaker: Paul and the Invention of Christianity, Jesus the Pharisee, and Judas Iscariot and the Myth of Jewish Evil; argued that Paul played a central role in shaping Christianity distinct from Judaism and also wrote the play The Disputation.
