Libanius

A 4th-century Greek sophist and rhetorician from Antioch, renowned for his speeches, school exercises, and extensive correspondence; he taught in Constantinople and Antioch, was an associate and admirer of Emperor Julian, and his works are key sources for the civic and social life of Late Antique Syria.
