Федерико Гарсиа Лорка

Spanish poet, playwright, and theatre director, a leading figure of the Generation of '27. Known for Romancero gitano and Poeta en Nueva York, and the plays Bodas de sangre, Yerma, and La casa de Bernarda Alba. He was executed by Nationalist forces in 1936 during the early days of the Spanish Civil War.
