Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

American former professional basketball player who played 20 seasons in the NBA (Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers), six-time NBA Most Valuable Player, six-time NBA champion, long-time NBA leading scorer, and later an author and social activist. Born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.; converted to Islam and adopted the name Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
