Denis de Rougemont

Denis de Rougemont (1906–1985) was a Swiss writer and cultural theorist. Known for his work on federalism, existentialism, and European unity, he was a significant figure in the non-conformist movements of the 1930s. De Rougemont's writings on love, particularly 'Love in the Western World,' and his advocacy for a united Europe have had a lasting influence on European intellectual thought. He also played a role in the founding of the European Cultural Centre and was a proponent of regionalism and the decentralization of political structures.
