Pseudo-Callisthenes

Conventional name for the anonymous author(s) of the Alexander Romance, a pseudonymous work traditionally (but incorrectly) attributed to Callisthenes. The writings compile legendary and biographical material about Alexander the Great and heavily influenced medieval and later traditions.
