Kim Il Sung

North Korean communist leader; founder and first Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), leading the country from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. Central figure in the ruling Workers' Party and associated with the development of the state's Juche ideology.
