John W. Campbell Jr.

American science fiction writer and editor, longtime editor of Astounding Science Fiction (later Analog) and a central figure in the Golden Age of Science Fiction. He also wrote under the pseudonym Don A. Stuart and mentored or influenced writers such as Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, and A.E. van Vogt.
