1. Poetic Knowledge
The book argues that knowing is not purely objective or purely technical but has a poetic dimension—grounded in narrative, metaphor, tacit skill, embodiment and imagination—and that recognizing this dimension offers a more nuanced, humane account of science and learning. It critiques positivist and purely instrumental accounts of knowledge, highlights the roles of interpretation, context and value, and shows how scientific practice depends on nonpropositional forms of understanding. By reframing knowledge as partly poetic, the work calls for epistemic humility, pluralism in methods, and educational practices that attend to creativity, judgment and the lived character of inquiry.
