In a near-future world devastated by bio-warfare, humanity accepts a global health-management regime that uses pervasive biomedical surveillance and intervention to eliminate disease, pain, and social disorder; the story follows several people—medical workers, enforcers, and dissenters—whose intertwined lives expose the emotional and moral costs of enforced well-being, forcing them to confront questions of autonomy, identity, sacrifice, and what it really means to live under a system that treats health as the highest value.
