William Sowden Sims

William Sowden Sims (1858–1936) was a U.S. Navy admiral who served during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was an advocate for naval reform and innovation, particularly in gunnery and ship design. Sims commanded U.S. naval forces in European waters during World War I and was a key figure in the modernization of the U.S. Navy. He was also awarded the Pulitzer Prize for History for his book 'Victory at Sea'.
