Lucretius

Lucretius was a Roman poet and philosopher who lived in the 1st century BCE. He is best known for his didactic work 'De Rerum Natura' (On the Nature of Things), which is a six-book poem in Latin that explores Epicurean physics and philosophy. Lucretius's work discusses the principles of atomism; the nature of the mind and soul; explanations of sensation and thought; the development of the world and its phenomena; and the philosophy of Epicurus, which includes the pursuit of happiness through understanding the workings of the world and the limits of our desires.
