George MacDonald

Scottish author, poet and Christian minister (1824–1905), a pioneering writer of fantasy and children's literature known for works such as Phantastes, The Princess and the Goblin and At the Back of the North Wind; influential on later writers including C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien.
