Roald Dahl
British novelist, short-story writer and screenwriter (1916–1990), born in Wales to Norwegian parents. Best known for children's books such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach and The BFG, and for macabre short stories for adults. Served as a Royal Air Force pilot in WWII.
