1. . . . And Then There Were None
Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island under various pretexts, only to discover a recorded accusation naming each of them as culpable in past crimes; soon they begin to die one by one in ways that echo a nursery rhyme. Cut off from the mainland and unable to trust anyone, the visitors descend into fear and suspicion as they try to identify the killer before they all are picked off. Tension mounts to a clever, unsettling resolution that reveals how and why the elaborate scheme was carried out.
