1. Gradiva
A Pompeiian Fancy
A young archaeologist becomes fixated on a bas‑relief of a woman frozen in mid‑step, and her image invades his waking thoughts and dreams; driven by obsession he follows traces of the figure to Pompeii, where the boundary between fantasy and reality blurs as he encounters a living woman resembling the relief, and through their encounters his fantasies are confronted and transformed into a human relationship that both challenges and heals his neurosis.
