Arlene Blum

Arlene Blum is an American mountaineer, author, and environmental health scientist. She is best known for leading an all-woman ascent of Annapurna I in 1978, one of the world's most dangerous and difficult mountains. Blum has also been a pioneer in advocating for the removal of toxic flame retardants and other harmful chemicals from household products. She has written books such as 'Annapurna: A Woman's Place' and 'Breaking Trail: A Climbing Life.'
