Ibn Battúta

Ibn Battúta was a Moroccan scholar and explorer who widely traveled the medieval world. Over a period of thirty years, he visited most of the Islamic world and many non-Muslim lands, including North Africa, the Horn of Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and China. His journeys are recorded in the Rihla (The Journey), which provides a comprehensive account of the 14th-century world.
