Alfred D. Chandler, Jr

Alfred Dupont Chandler Jr. (1918–2007) was a renowned American business historian and professor at Harvard Business School. He was widely known for his extensive research on the history of business and management. Chandler's most significant contribution to the field was his work on the evolution of modern business enterprises and managerial capitalism. His seminal book, 'The Visible Hand: The Managerial Revolution in American Business' (1977), earned him the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1978. His research emphasized the importance of organizational structure and management in the growth and success of large corporations.
