Don E. Fehrenbacher

Don E. Fehrenbacher (1920–1997) was an American historian specializing in the history of the United States. He is particularly known for his work on the era of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War. Fehrenbacher won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1979 for his book 'The Dred Scott Case: Its Significance in American Law and Politics', which is considered a definitive work on the subject.
