Rhys L. Isaac

Rhys L. Isaac (1937 – 2010) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning South African historian known for his work on American history, particularly the American South during the colonial and revolutionary periods. His most notable work, 'The Transformation of Virginia, 1740-1790,' explored the social and political changes in Virginia during that time and earned him the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1983. Isaac's research was influential in the field of social history and the study of early American culture.
