An orphaned street urchin named Bean, blessed with an uncanny intellect, is plucked from the slums and sent to an elite orbital Battle School where children are trained as commanders in humanity’s fight against an alien threat. 3. 7. Lucifer, Book Four

Now exiled from Hell and determined to live by his own rules, the fallen angel maneuvers through a web of mortal and divine politics as unexpected alliances, betrayals, and power plays force him to confront the consequences of absolute autonomy. Angels, demons, and human agents all seek to exploit or resist a shifting order, and he responds with cold intellect and mordant wit, unraveling plots, exposing hypocrisies, and reshaping destinies. The collection mixes noir intrigue and philosophical debate with sweeping supernatural conflict as one being’s insistence on freedom sets off reverberations that threaten the balance between realms.

  4. 8. Lucifer, Book Three

After abandoning Hell and carving out a life of his own, the fallen angel finds himself drawn into a dangerous web of political maneuvering and supernatural intrigue as celestial and mortal players alike try to bend him to their schemes. Old rivalries resurface and unlikely alliances form, forcing him and those close to him to confront painful choices, betrayals, and shifting loyalties. The volume raises the stakes for both Heaven and Earth, deepening the series’ examination of power, responsibility, and the costs of exercising one’s freedom.

  5. 9. Marvel Holiday Special

Marvel Holiday Special was an anthology comic book series published by Marvel Comics featuring several of its characters in Christmas or holiday-themed stories. The first Marvel Holiday Special from 1991 is notable for establishing that Santa Claus exists as a mutant character within the Marvel Universe. Santa has since made several appearances in other Marvel titles. Other notable stories include a story by Kurt Busiek in the 1994 issue which filled out the details of a solicited but never-published story from the 1960s X-Men series in which Iceman and Beast fought Metoxo and the Lava Men, closing a continuity gap that fans had wondered about for 25 years. The Marvel Holiday Special has featured several stories that focus on Jewish characters like The Thing and Shadowcat celebrating Hannukah, as well as other Jewish characters whose religion isn't often clearly depicted in stories. Notably, Thing creator Stan Lee, who is also Jewish, wrote his first story in which Thing discussed his Jewish faith in the 2009 Marvel Holiday Special, 48 years after Thing made his comics debut.
