Louis R. Harlan

Louis R. Harlan was an American historian and author, best known for his two-volume biography of African-American educator and leader Booker T. Washington. He won the Bancroft Prize for both volumes and the Pulitzer Prize for Biography for the second volume. His work is highly regarded for its rigorous scholarship and contribution to African-American studies.
