Anatole France

French poet, novelist, and journalist (1844–1924), known by the pen name Anatole France. Winner of the 1921 Nobel Prize in Literature, noted for works such as Le Crime de Sylvestre Bonnard and L'Île des pingouins and for a satirical, classical, humanistic style.
