Alain Robbe-Grillet
French novelist, screenwriter and film director; a leading figure of the Nouveau Roman (New Novel) movement and an influential experimental writer and theorist. Author of novels such as The Erasers and Jealousy, collaborator on films including Last Year at Marienbad, and elected to the Académie française in 2004.
