Thomas More

Thomas More was an English lawyer, social philosopher, author, statesman, and noted Renaissance humanist. He is best known for his book 'Utopia', published in 1516, which describes a fictional island society and its religious, social, and political customs. More was an important counselor to King Henry VIII of England and was executed for refusing to accept the king as head of the Church of England.
