Eric Linklater

Eric Linklater was a Scottish author of novels, short stories, and travel books. He was born on March 8, 1899, in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, but his family moved back to Orkney, Scotland, when he was a child. He served in both World Wars and was known for his service as well as his literary career. Linklater wrote in various genres, including historical fiction and children's literature, and was part of the Scottish Renaissance movement. He was also a rector of the University of Aberdeen and was knighted in 1954 for his contributions to literature. Some of his notable works include 'Juan in America' and 'Private Angelo'. Eric Linklater passed away on November 7, 1974.
