Irene Opdyke

Irene Opdyke was a Polish nurse who is recognized for her heroic actions during World War II. She is best known for aiding and hiding Jewish refugees during the Holocaust, for which she was later honored by the Israeli government as one of the Righteous Among the Nations. Her life and deeds are recounted in her memoir 'In My Hands: Memories of a Holocaust Rescuer.'
