Franklin W. Dixon

Franklin W. Dixon is the pen name used by various different authors who wrote The Hardy Boys novels for the Stratemeyer Syndicate as well as for the subsequent series. The first and most well-known 'Franklin W. Dixon' was Leslie McFarlane, a Canadian author who contributed to the series from 1927 to 1946. Other writers who have adopted the pseudonym include Andrew E. Svenson, John Button, W. Howard Baker, and many others. The character of Franklin W. Dixon was created by Edward Stratemeyer.
