Janet Lewis

Janet Lewis was an American novelist, poet, and short story writer, best known for her series of historical novels about legal cases, including 'The Wife of Martin Guerre.' She was born on August 17, 1899, and passed away on December 1, 1998. Her work is characterized by its clear prose and deep psychological insight. Lewis was also a respected poet, and her literary career spanned much of the 20th century.
