Sei Shōnagon

Sei Shōnagon was a Japanese author, poet, and a court lady who served the Empress Teishi (Sadako) during the Heian period. She is best known for writing 'The Pillow Book' (Makura no Sōshi), a collection of essays, lists, poetry, and observations about court life.
