Andre Dubus

Andre Dubus was an American short story writer and essayist. Born on August 11, 1936, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he is best known for his collections of short stories. Dubus's work is characterized by its focus on the human condition and the complexities of love, violence, and family relationships. His notable works include 'Dancing After Hours', 'Separate Flights', and 'The Times Are Never So Bad'. He was the recipient of numerous awards, including the MacArthur Fellowship, and his stories have been adapted into films, such as 'In the Bedroom' and 'We Don't Live Here Anymore'. Dubus passed away on February 24, 1999.
