Winifred Watson

Winifred Watson was a British author best known for her 1938 novel 'Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day,' which became a bestseller and was later adapted into a successful film in 2008. Born on February 20, 1906, in Newcastle upon Tyne, she wrote a number of other novels but eventually stopped writing to focus on her family. Her work often featured strong female characters and was known for its wit and social commentary. Watson passed away on August 5, 2002.
