Ciril Kosmač

Ciril Kosmač was a Slovenian writer, playwright, and screenwriter. Born on September 28, 1910, in Slap ob Idrijci, he is considered one of the most important Slovene storytellers of the 20th century. His work often explored themes of existential anxiety and the individual's search for identity. Kosmač's notable works include the novel 'Tistega lepega dne' (On That Beautiful Day) and the short story 'Balada o trobenti in oblaku' (Ballad of the Trumpet and the Cloud). He was also known for his resistance to the Italian Fascist regime and his involvement in the Slovene Liberation Front during World War II. Ciril Kosmač passed away on February 28, 1980, in Ljubljana.
