Grace Metalious

Grace Metalious (1924–1964) was an American author best known for her controversial novel 'Peyton Place,' published in 1956. The book was a bestseller and became a cultural phenomenon, shedding light on social issues in small-town America. Her work often challenged the social norms of the time, particularly regarding sexuality and women's roles. Despite the success of 'Peyton Place,' Metalious faced criticism and personal challenges throughout her career.
