Bstan-ʼdzin-rgya-mtsho

Bstan-ʼdzin-rgya-mtsho, better known as the 14th Dalai Lama, is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a former political leader of Tibet. Born on July 6, 1935, in Taktser, Tibet, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at a young age. He has spent much of his life advocating for the welfare of Tibetans, promoting human values, interfaith dialogue, and nonviolent conflict resolution. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. In addition to his religious duties, he is also an author of numerous books on Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and peace.
