Gene Luen Yang

Gene Luen Yang is an American cartoonist and writer known for his work in the graphic novel genre. His notable works include 'American Born Chinese,' which was the first graphic novel to be nominated for a National Book Award and the first to win the American Library Association's Michael L. Printz Award. He has also written for the popular comic series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' and 'Superman.' In 2016, the Library of Congress named him a National Ambassador for Young People's Literature.
